General Information

Introduction

The Maidenhead Rowing Club boathouse may be found on the Buckinghamshire (east) bank of the River Thames just below  Maidenhead Bridge. There has been a rowing club in Maidenhead since the early nineteenth century with the current boathouse was completed in June 1998. Having been in our previous premises for over 160 years we had long outgrown them, the move into the new boathouse will enable the club to grow well into the next century.

The club rows all the year round (river conditions permitting) with regular land training sessions as well as training on the water. The active rowing membership ranges in age from about 12 to over 70 with about equal numbers of men and women actively rowing. New members are always welcome, both those who are experienced rowers and those who have never been in a boat before, the only restriction is that you must be able to swim 100 metres in light clothing.
